CHALLENGE: UK-based WorldRemit is the world’s largest online money transfer business. Now Series C-funded, the company is also a fintech disruptor of traditional money. Sefiani’s brief was to launch WorldRemit in Australia and New Zealand and drive awareness and usage while also ensuring strong engagement with key migrant communities to increase brand awareness.
STRATEGY: Sefiani pursued a two-pronged approach. At launch, we arranged interviews for the global founder. We leveraged key issues in the media agenda, offering WorldRemit’s unique story and insights to top-tier journalists. We created campaigns around compelling issues in migrant communities, and partnered with these communities on grassroots activations and events.
IMPACT: Significant media coverage was achieved at launch across national top-tier media. Our outreach to the communities has led to community leader advocacy for WorldRemit. Within six months of launch, WorldRemit saw Australia become its highest-revenue market globally, with the client crediting Sefiani’s PR activity as the key driver.
