Sefiani celebrates 20th anniversary

Leading independent Australian communications firm Sefiani has celebrated its 20th anniversary with staff and several special friends of the agency with a birthday dinner on the shores of Sydney Harbour.

Founder and CEO Robyn Sefiani said: “It’s been a privilege working with so many amazing clients and colleagues over two decades and we’re excited for the work we’ll be doing in the future as the communications and media landscape continues to evolve”.

While Sefiani commenced as a specialist corporate and financial firm, the Group has grown to become a full-service agency offering integrated services across all industry sectors while maintaining a market-leading position in financial and professional services and issues and crisis management.

Sefiani is also the non-exclusive Australian affiliate of three global firms: public affairs leader APCO Worldwide, Ruder Finn and Grayling.

“When establishing Sefiani after a career with Edelman, it was important to maintain an international perspective and offering. We treasure our global affiliate relationships which ensure we can offer clients premium level service anywhere in the world as well as helping international organisations enter or grow their business in the Australian market,” said Sefiani.

“It’s rare we take time out to reflect on where we’ve come from but an occasion like this is the perfect time to do so. Two particular highlights in the past two decades include being VISA’s communications team during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, handling everything from crisis preparedness and management to media entertainment where we saw Cathy Freeman and Ian Thorpe win gold for Australia; through to pro bono support of privacy campaigner Brieana Rose to motivate legislative change to criminalise the taking and sharing of intimate images without consent”.

Current clients of the agency include EY (Ernst & Young), Rest Industry Super, CrowdStrike, Expedia Inc, L’Oreal, Rothschild & Co, McGrathNicol and Landbridge Group.

Sefiani was named Mid-Size Agency of the Year at Mumbrella CommsCon 2018 and in 2019 was a finalist for that award.

Sister agency Kite Communications was formed in 2015 to offer consumer and digital services to the Group’s growing client roster and was Mumbrella CommsCon’s Boutique Agency of the Year in 2016.
