14 Feb Powerful stories shine a light on the issue of family and domestic violence
Sefiani is delighted to assist BaptistCare and The Tara Costigan Foundation as they once again join forces to present the second National Family Violence Summit to address the growing issue of family and domestic violence in Australia.
Taking place in Canberra on the 28th of February and 1st of March 2017, the grassroots event will see domestic violence survivors, service providers, thought leaders and change makers gather together to share their experiences and collectively develop a roadmap to end family and domestic violence, with the hashtag #togetherwearestrong.
The summit will include keynote speeches from a number of family violence advocates and survivors including Rebecca Poulson, whose personal story is recognised as one of Australia’s worst domestic violence tragedies, and who was recently profiled by News.com.au in the lead up to the summit.
Research has shown that one woman dies every week as a result of family violence, and BaptistCare and The Tara Costigan Foundation are committed to facilitating ongoing dialogue between those affected by family and domestic violence, frontline service providers and all levels of government in Australia.
